There are 2 versions of the game, 1 for PC and 1 for the Playstation 2.
Gameplay
Pimp My Ride is a racing game that allows players to customize their game cars. Players are given a list of options that allow the players to create their own ride. Players are given the opportunity to pick a paint color, a decal color, an engine and a transmission for the vehicle. Players can then give their ride a look with a wide range of color combinations. The game also allows players to customize their ride by putting accessories on the vehicle such as new tires, spoilers, rims, and hoods.
Development and release
Pimp My Ride was first released in the United States on August 2, 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Windows. It is the follow-up to the PlayStation 2's Motor Madness and Microsoft Windows' Ride Like the Pros racing games. It is also the second game in the PlayStation 2's line of third-person-shooter-sports-racing games. The game's development was headed by Mark Long. The game is based on the popular MTV show of the same name. The game was also announced at the 2005 Game Developers Conference, which is a conference of video game development studios.
